Nursery milestone tree

I painted this onto a wall in baby twin girls nursery, i used watercolour to keep the look very soft and I built up the layers to create texture and shading. You can't really see the pink blossoms as they are very small but they are very delicate and just give a touch of colour-so sweet!
A little 'milestone tree' to mark special events and memorable days for special twin baby girls.

Angel

This design was taken from a photograph of a glass angel belonging to this lady.  She wanted me to make the theme 'angels' but also to include the 'tree'. Favourite songs 'Blue Velvet' and 'When We Wish Upon A Star' are featured as are her close family members, friends and her families two dogs.

They travelled the world throughout the years and lived in Egypt, hence the pyramids and she is also a keen patchwork sewer so I decided to make a fabric feature of the pyramids.

I love the elegance of this drawing and hope to use this theme again.

Gift for mother and daughter in Turkey

I was commissioned this one for a mother and her 5 year old daughter. The strongest influence for this design is the 'fatima hand'. It appeared a lot in the information given to me about their life and Sinem loves the philosophy of the fatima hand. This was an obvious choice for me to work with. I also changed the tree format to a more delicate design to include more decorative artwork within the hand.

Sinem is a ballet dancer and loves Turkish rock star Teoman.

Duru loves Dora the Explorer-I also included 'boots' hanging from a branch. She has a beautiful dog called Bonnie and a cat called Bianca. And a huge love of chocolate ice cream!!!

I received an email to let me know that this is now her favourite 'Fatima hand'!! How exciting.

40th Birthday gift

I was asked to design a ship for a surprise 40th. It had to include a link to France (she is a french teacher) also Italy for family connections, keen skier, plays clarinet, piano, and loves U2. The building is Shakespeare's birthplace as this is the area where she was born.
I particularly enjoyed drawing the Eiffel Tower.

Wedding gift

This young couple got married in the Carnegie Conference Centre in Dunfermline, as featured.

Their wedding cake was an array of cup cakes, the groom is a very enthusiastic badminton player and attends tournaments all over the country.

The bride is a huge Take That fan and also loves Zumba.

The first song played at the reception is also featured within the piece.

They said after opening this gift that it was their best wedding gift ever!

La Vida

Boutique near Dunfermline

I designed this for a very stylish boutique in Dunfermline.  Laura (the owner) only sells the very best and exclusive outfits.

She asked me to create atmosphere and also wanted me to include Dolly Dimple-a bespoke corset service by a very talented lady Maggie.

This artwork is featured in the boutique.

The Quay Gallery

The Quay Gallery-Aberdour, Fife

I designed this artwork for the owner of the Quay Gallery which is down in the harbour at Black Sands.  I thought the ship image would be appropriate and worked with the various information i was given ie; The Elgin Cathedral, map of Aberdour, thistles, Burghead Bull and flags representing Scotland, France and also the union jack.

This is displayed within the Gallery.

Births and Christenings

This vintage pram is very popular for celebrating a new baby or Christening event.

It can include the parents wedding details or how/when they met. Also any proud big brothers or big sisters.

Turkish Wedding Gift

I was commissioned to design this for a Turkish couples wedding. They met on a flight going to Izmir.

The marriage ceremony and reception took place in the Crown Plaza Hotel. They then took a boat to a nearby Island called Simi for their honeymoon.

Angelite

Angelite-Maygate Dunfermline

This  'Tree of Life' was designed for a complimentary therapy business in Dunfermline.

It has key words directly relating to relaxation and everything else associated with massage therapy.

The Dunfermline Abbey was a delight to draw, and I wanted to have a spider dangling from its web directly above the Abbey. This is giving reference to Robert the Bruce and his study of the spiders determination in spinning its web.

Art Room 59

This design was created for an Art gallery/gift shop.

The information i was given to work with were hearts, clocks and the feature tree display, central within the shop worked particularly well with the 'tree of life' theme.
Abbot House in Dunfermline now sell jewellery and various gifts supplied by Art Room 59. This I just had to incorporate into the artwork as its such a beautiful iconic pink building.
